Cecil Nibert, 95, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at SOMC Hospice.
Born Jan. 9, 1915, in West Virginia, a son of the late Rutherford and Mary Fannin Nibert, he was a former employee of Lute Plumbing Supply and was a member of Turn Point in Waverly.
He is survived by one son, Steve Nibert of Gallipolis; two daughters, Ruby Martin and Barbara Loper, both of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Nibert of Wheelersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kelsie Brame Nibert on May 22, 2002, whom he married April 20, 1935; one sister, Mabel Shoemaker; and two brothers, Edward Nibert and Carlos Nibert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Brother Jerry Harper officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
