Clara Leona Montgomery, 97, of Minford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Hillview Retirement Center.
Born July 13, 1915 in Johnson County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James and Verdie Frazier Trimble, she was a graduate of Minford High School Class of 1933, was a fancy stitcher for Williams Shoe Factory for 25 years, and a member of South Shore Church of God at Center Street.
Clara loved to cook and do crafts for her family.
For 84 years she was a consistent Christian testimony for her family. She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy (Daniel) Gilbert of Minford, Marilyn (George) Kaut of Akron, Rita (Jerry) Ruby of Wheelersburg; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and two sisters, Ruth Knauff of West Portsmouth and Celestial Johnson of Canton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ossie Ray Montgomery on May 31, 1976 whom she married April 28, 1934, and four brothers, Ellis Trimble, Warren Trimble, Neville Trimble and Mitchell Trimble.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Brother John Evans officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
