Ernest Brame, 81, of Minford, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the home of his daughter in Pataskala.
Born September 10, 1920 in Scioto County, a son of the late Claude and Cynthia (Slone) Brame, he was a lifetime resident of Scioto County.
He was a retired employee for Goodyear Atomic Corporation with 30 years of service. He was a member of Harrison Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as assistant superintendent and trustee on the church board.
A graduate of Minford High School in the Class of 1939, he was WW II Army Air Corp veteran stationed in England Air Base Depot 2 and for 10 years he owned and operated Brame's Grocery on White Gravel Road.
He is survived by his wife, Martha E. (Erwin) Brame, whom he married on February 21, 1946 in Minford; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Stephen Abner of Pataskala; grandson, Bradley S. Abner; granddaughter, Stacey Abner; brother, William Brame of Minford; 2 special girls whom he considered as daughters, Doris Chamberlin and Robin (Newsome) Jones; a very good friend, Darrell Risner; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons John Earl Brame in 1952 and Rawland Brame, who was in the military service at Ft. Campbell, Ky. on June 23, 1970, brother Henry Brame and sister Kelsie Nibert.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2002 at ERWIN-DODSON-ALLEN FUNERAL HOME, Minford with Pastor Dan Widdig officiating.
Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery, Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home in Minford from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Ohio Hospice, 1984 Coffman Rd., Newark, Oh. 43055.
