Deceased Name: Harold Fisher
CONWAY| Harold "Hal'' Fisher, 82, of South Carolina, died Friday, April 19, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Charles A. and Stella Williams Fisher.
He was owner and operator of General Aviation Pilot Services, an 80-plane operation, in Baltimore for 30 years.
He was a pilot for Eastern Airlines.
He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was wounded three times in service.
He was Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower's personal pilot during World War II.
He raised beef for McDonald's and had a boat building business. He once owned the largest country club in Maryland and ran a foster home for troubled boys. He lectured at different colleges for many years.
Survivors include three sisters, Edith Powell and Evelyn Bennett, both of Minford, Ohio, and Avanella Willis of Alaska.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Fisher and Charles Fisher.
No service is planned.
