Lillian Delores Johnson, 89, of Minford,
died Friday, May 18, 2007, at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born April 27, 1918, in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Estill and Alvia Wheeler Ison, she was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1937.
She had been an employee for Williams Mfg. Company, Martings, and a representative for Nobility Silverware and Avon. Along with her late husband, they operated Twin Bells Restaurant in Clarktown and Minford Dairy Bar for 23 years.
She was a member of Candy Run United Baptist Church, Lucasville Order of the Eastern Star No. 495, where she was past worthy matron. She also was a past deputy grand matron of the Grand Chapter of the State of Ohio and past mother adviser of the Lucasville Assembly of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Sue and Roger Sessor, and Diane and Ron Harris, all of Lucasville; six grandchildren, Julie Montgomery and Laura Bunyan, both of Virginia, Chris Truglio, of New Jersey, Amy Payne, of Florida, Stacey McNeil, of West Portsmouth, and Mindy Martin, of Wheelersburg; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Ison, of Oregon; and stepmother, Elsie Ison, of Portsmouth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Johnson, May 9, 1980, whom she married June 12, 1935; one brother, Claude B. Ison; and three sisters, Regina Fischer, Cora Lou Ison and Blanche Ison.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007, at Candy Run United Baptist Church with Elder Arvil Murray Jr. and Elder David Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Erwin-Dodson- Allen Funeral Home in Minford and one hour before the services Monday at the church. There will be an Eastern Star service conducted by Eastern Star No. 495 at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
