Retha E. Kitchen, 97
"Oh Lord my God How Great Thou Art"
 
Retha E. Kitchen, 97, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth.
 
Born November 6, 1915, in Casey County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Rush Monroe and Maude Virginia Douglas Burchett, she was a graduate of Minford High School, worked at Williams Manufacturing for 30 years. She loved to quilt and was a member of Rocky Fork Primitive Baptist Church.
 
She is survived by one son, Dallas (Catherine) Ratcliff of Willow Spring, N.C.; one brother, Luther Burchett; one granddaughter, JoAnne Ratcliff; one grandson, Jeffrey D. Ratcliff; and three great-grandchildren, Kayela, Ian and Erin.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Kitchen; six brothers, Harve Burchett, Dayton Burchett, Johnson Burchett, Howard Burchett, Samuel Burchett and Oliver Burchett; and six sisters, Eula Burchett, Marie Brazzeau, Ruby Elder, Lura Roberts, Carrie Martin and Irene Billips.
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg with Elder Cephus Littleton and Elder Harold Burchett officiating.
 
Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
 
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Rocky Fork Primitive Baptist Church, 2106-A Kinker Road, Minford, OH 45653. -
