Martha Matilda "Tillie" Knore, 92, of Bennett School House, Minford, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at her residence.
She was born July 1, 1915, in Scioto County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Clara Shearer White. Before she was married she had worked in Columbus at a dress shop and candy store. She was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1933, and was a member of the girl's state championship basketball team. She was an active and lifelong member of Minford United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Keith W. (Brenda) Knore of Columbus, Kent W. (Delores) Knore of Min-ford, Kyle W. (Brenda) Knore of Minford,
Kurt W. (Sandra) Knore of Florida; one daughter, Kaye (Philip) Boiarski of Galloway, Ohio; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Knore on April 29, 2003, whom she married in 1939; two brothers, Dudley White, Delmos White; and two sisters, Helen Erwin and Eileen Ingram.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday,
July 3, 2008, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Sam Peters officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
