Willard J. Brame, 93, of Minford, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.

Born July 26, 1915, in Scioto County, a son of the late Claude and Cynthia Slone Brame, he retired in 1980 with 26 years of service for the former Goodyear Atomic Corporation in Piketon as amachinist. He was a graduate of Minford High Schoolin the class of 1933, was a member of Harrison Free Will Baptist Church and Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465. He enjoyed his retirement years where he spent his time designing and building projects for his home.  

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Oberley Brame; four daughters, Shirley and Elmer Williams of Newark, Ruth and Ray Powell of West Jefferson, Carolyn and James Garrett of Lucasville, and Cynthia Johnson of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Duane and Theresa Powell, Michael and Julie Richard, Lisa and Jim Martin, Laura Garrett, Melissa and Brett Auer; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Powell, Conor Powell, Carlie Powell, Paige Richard, Katie Richard, Stephanie Martin, Jaclyn Martin, and Cody Martin; and one great-great-grandchild, Mason Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, AbbieMae Coburn Brame, on April 29, 1975; two brothers, Henry Brame and Ernest Brame; one sister, Kelsie Nibert; and two sons-in-law, Charles A. Richard and Roger D. Johnson.  

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Daryl Grimes officiating.

Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery inMinford. Friendsmay call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday.

A Masonic service will be held by the Lucasville Lodge at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
